This howto explain how to enable or disable multicast on network device

DEVICE ETH0 :

# ifconfig eth0
eth0      Link encap:Ethernet  HWaddr 00:0C:29:F1:FF:EA  
inet addr:78.46.74.27  Bcast:78.46.74.31  Mask:255.255.255.224

Disable Multicast:

Enable Multicast :
