If you used ssh keys sometime it is important to change your passphrase, and this mini howto explain you how to do that.

LOCATE SSH KEYS

# cd $HOME/.ssh

# ls -al

  • id_dsa : DSA private key
  • id_dsa.pub : DSA public key
  • id_rsa : RSA private key
  • id_rsa.pub : RSA public key

CHANGE PASSPHRASE

  • Change passphrase of your private rsa key

$ ssh-keygen -f id_rsa -p

  • Change passphrase of your private dsa key

$ ssh-keygen -f id_dsa -p
