Telnet is a standart internet protocol used to give an access to terminal or application.
Telnet is an unsecure protocol, this protocole used a client and a server. The server parse the command send by the client and reply to the client.
POP3,IMAP or SMTP are based on the telnet protocol. In the telnet you don't have any indentification, if you need to have an identification you have to add a module for that.
